Born in Havana, Cuba in 1948, I am a self–taught modern and abstract artist who, late in life, discovered painting. My art, like my life, is a work in progress. It is constantly evolving and being influenced by my past and current experiences.
Having been an admirer of abstract expressionism, I began to explore my artistic side after I survived a plane crash in 2004. I came away from this near–death experience with a new perspective on life and the interconnectivity of human beings and nature.
A former engineer and CEO of a global multinational, I attempt to balance the restraint and discipline I needed to achieve success in corporate America with the boldness, creativity and passion needed to visually express my thoughts and emotions on canvas.
